Heel of Approval: Product Review

Pardon me for such a weird topic but I just had to share.

I have less than desirable heels. I wear flip flops a lot and don't moisturize enough and the end result ain't pretty.

A while back, I came across this heel treatment in the goody bag of one of my 5K/10K/Bay to Breakers races. It worked SO WELL. I knew that I had found the cure to my ugly heels. My husband was excited to because, well, the sight of my heels makes him gag.

I used the samples of that treatment and googled it to see where I could buy more. I never did buy more and I threw away the sample packets so my heels never got better. Sad face.

While at Bath and Body Works a few weeks ago, I came across their True Blue Spa line and decided to try the Heel of Approval Cracked Heel Treatment.

In the past week, I have been using this on my heels every morning and every night and sometimes in between. I have noticed a huge difference! It contains shea butter and glycolic acid, which helps get rid of dry, dead skin cells.

I highly recommend this product for soft, smooth feet and heels. And now, you can own it!!!

GIVEAWAY AHEAD.....

I am giving away one 4 oz. jar of Heel of Approval plus a 2.5 oz bottle of Glove Me Tender Restorative Hand Treatment. You don't want your hands having jealous thoughts towards your feet, right?

Fireworks go BOOM!

I can't help but share some of these right now! My husband was super duper smart and purchased a tripod so I could take amazing pictures while he lit the fireworks in the street.

Those are just 3 of the 220 pictures I took tonight. We had a great time! Chris' brother, sister and mom joined us as well as my cousin and her boyfriend. We sat on the sidewalk and watched the show. We might not have had the loudest fireworks on the block (my ears still hurt a bit!!) but we did have some fun moments.

I love the 4th of July!!

Happy Birthday, America!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe 4th of July. My husband purchased an obscene amount of fireworks today to light off at night. I am all ready to go with our camera, tripod, red vines and a bucket of water to put out any sparks or flaming body parts.

Be safe, have fun and Happy Birthday, America. You rock!

Practicing taking Pretty Pictures

My sister said that in order to get better at picture taking, I need to practice. I'm too blonde to have figured that out myself. Sadly, I have no fun subjects to take pictures of so I am stuck photographing the sky and plants. Here are some of my recent photos:

The next four pictures were fun to take. I just change the white balance setting on each one. The flowers change colors before your very eyes!

Tungsten Light

Daylight

I'm looking forward to taking pictures of people and places more than things. Chris is planning on lighting off some fireworks on the 4th of July so I hope to capture those in all their glory!

July 1-July 31

In another attempt to lose weight and eat better, we (I) have banned junk food from our house for the month of July.

What exactly is junk food, you ask? I shall reveal:
*Soda
*Candy
*Ice cream
*chips (baked and pretzels are ok)
*cookies
*cake

I know the saying goes "Everything in moderation" but see, I have a problem with the moderation part. I tend not to moderate when it comes to eating. So I am not going to ban myself from eating ice cream on a hot day or having a soda every now and again. But these items will not be purchased at the grocery store and will not be found in our fridge, freezer and cabinets for the month of July.

I vow not to go nuts and eat everything on that list every single day. I won't deprive myself having a treat but I hope that by not welcoming the junk food into our house, it will be easier to go without it.

Question: What is your junk food weakness? Would you be able to keep junk out of your house for a month? Do you think I am completely crazy for doing this?

Poor Thumbkin

I must be stressed.

There is no other explanation as to why I would sleep with my left thumb bent over so hard, for so long (thats what she said) that it would be extremely sore this morning. I could barely make my thumb stand up straight without pain!

Maybe I was dreaming about walking down the side of a road but I didn't want to hitchhike so I tucked my thumb down as to avoid throwing it in the air to jump into a strangers car.

My poor thumb still hurts. Poor little thumbkin.

Disneyland Part 4

The final post about Disneyland is here! I got a bit lazy about recapping and since no one was commenting, I figured I could take my sweet time getting this last post done and over with. I probably shouldn't have waited so long though because now, I need to go back to my pictures to remember what we did!

The house from "Up" made an appearance in front of the parks this morning. Luckily, I didn't start crying like I did in the movie.

We took the train from Fantasyland around the park to Orleans Square. It was nice to get around the park without walking since it was quite warm and my feet hurt.

The train stopped in front of Disneyland so I snapped this picture of my Chris with the Tower of Terror from California Adventure in the background.

They have photographers posted up around the park ready to take your picture. He was nice and took a picture with our camera in front of the Thanks For Visiting display. We went to lunch in Downtown Disney and headed over to CA Adventure for the afternoon.

You can't visit Disneyland without buying Mickey Ears. They sure have fancied these up since I was little!

I love the silly little things in the park gift shops, like this clock.

Using the long shutter speed to make the water look extra cool. Neat, right?

Believe it or not, I waited an entire 24 hours to eat this cookie. I didn't feel right snacking on Mickey's head while in his "house."

We were lucky enough to find an empty bench and waited there for about 45 minutes for the Pixar Play Parade to start. The crowd grew and before we knew it, the sides of the "street" were packed!!

Here is Carl and Russell from "Up"

SQUIRREL!!!

Cars

Mr. Incredible

Finding Nemo float

Toy Soldiers from "Toy Story"

Woody! He spit water out of his mouth, as did all the floats. I swear they were aiming for me because my shirt was covered in water when the parade was over!

Tow-Mater from Cars.
After the parade was over, we walked around a bit more, trying to delay the inevitable. Leaving Disneyland was going to be tough! But eventually, we made our way to the shuttle stop one last time and went back to the hotel.
We had a great time! I highly suggest going to Disneyland if you have never been there before. It is loads of fun for kids and kids at heart....like us!
